The social activists were even more ridiculous. But, it must be emphasized that just because that particular guy doesn't know any writers, it does not mean no student (Tamil lit. Its shocking, but not outside of the realm of the current student setup. I am not sure whether it was orchestrated so, but most them looked utterly incompetent to put forth their views, like the guy who doesn't know any Tamil writers but doing a masters in Tamil literature. The students there were not competent enough for a debate like that. There were also some straight out projections of what they said to change the plane of debate. Moving on, Gopinath and the so called NGOs seemed to be enforcing and pushing their own agendas towards the students in such a way that its nauseating. First things first, I was surprised how he can claim something like that with such a small sample of handpicked students ? Does he know anything about sampling ? Is the claim backed up by proper scientific records from the sample ?
Gopinath mentioned that he has selected the students who were very good in academics and its a representation of the society. The debate was completely one-sided, nowadays becoming the flavor of the program. It is centered around the discussion between current students and social activists, regarding Social awareness. Recently I came across a debate in Neeya Naana of Vijay TV.
